Scottish tourist tax to be introduced!
Yep, I am in no way joking about this one.
It looks like pretty soon tourists will be charged £2 per night to stay in Scottish hotels!
Council leaders unanimously agreed that the local government should prepare to implement tourist Tax which was originally mentioned by Labour in the 2018/19 budget.
The new tourist tax has been estimated to bring in an additional £70million a year to local Scottish councils.
Now, I know £2 isn’t going to break the bank but it’s still an additional cost you will need to consider.
I think Scotland is a beautiful place so paying £2 to help preserve it considering I work full time doesn’t concern me too much (plus the added advantage of staying in the van for most of our Scottish adventures) however, I would love to hear how others feel about this!
Please, let me know!

I have been to Scotland twice and I didn’t like their booking centers they charged a fee to book a room. Now it will be even more.

I’ve never heard of that before! That’s a shame. I really hope it doesn’t put people off visiting as it’s such a lovely place!
