Being retired is a fantastic thing.
Well, so Tom thought until operation #Betsysfacelift started again last weekend!
He thought his retirement would be spent walking the dog in the lakes, writing more Tommy Two Notes songs and occasionally doing odd jobs around the house when instructed numerous times by Sue.
He always knew that at some point Betsy would need a little TLC but I don’t think he expected it to come around quite so quick….
Week 1 – Operation Betsys Facelift
Tuesday and Wednesday (13th and 14th February)
Tom has spent most of this week doing some more preparation, he has completely cleared out the garage and prepared two work benches ready for the sanding and spraying processes.
Now, before the garage was cleaned it really was the typical man cave full of everything and anything so it is hard to believe that in just 2 days, he has managed to get it looking like this!
Thursday (15th February)
Most of Thursday was spent continuing to strip parts off Betsy. It was whilst he was doing this he came to realise how bad she had started to deteriorate especially in the last year or so.
The rust situation is quite impressive but nowhere near as bad as when we collected her originally in 06/07
I was quite shocked when I received the pictures yesterday afternoon!
I’m afraid that’s all for now, but slow and steady wins the race!
Time for the break down!
Man Hours: 12
Total Man Hours: 15
Total Spend: £0
I will be spending some time working on Betsy tomorrow so please keep your eyes peeled for further updates!
