Pretty much sums up the lovely home from home comfort you feel as soon as you walk through the door at Hotel Darsor.
Ahmed could not do enough to please us and make us feel welcome! Upon arrival we were asked to come in, sit down and drink some tea before anything else was even mentioned.
We were poured some traditional mint tea and given some home made biscuits to eat whilst we were shown a map of Marrakech with all of the major tourist places highlighted to us. We were then given a tour of the property including the pool, lounge area, gym, massage room and reception.
Last but certainly not least, we were shown to our room, or should I say our apartment! It was huge and I’m sure the bed was bigger than king size! It was beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless!
The hotel itself is in a PERFECT location! 10 min walk to the medina and the old town and a 10 min walk in the other direction to the new town!
Ahmed offered us Day trips, tours and beauty treatments so long as we gave him a days notice and couldn’t do more to help us. Especially in a morning when serving breakfast!
Breakfast was made up of breads, croissants, omelette, pancakes and yoghurt with a glass of orange and a coffee. More than enough to keep you full until lunch time in my opinion! We can be little piggies at times and we never struggled with feeling under fed!
The night shift porter, Souhail was always at the door within a few minutes if not less of us arriving on a evening. He always welcomed us and asked us how we had spent our day and checked that we were still enjoying ourselves! He even wrote a note in Arabic for me for my Grandfathers birthday just in case I couldn’t find a calligrapher.
All in all, I am so glad we chose this hotel. It was very reasonably priced (£250 for 4 nights) and after walking around Marrakech there were hardly any that even came close on appearance, let alone friendliness of the staff!
We honestly can’t wait to be their guest again!
