Lake District – Coniston

My first sleepover in Betsy was at Coniston.

I had been up there walking the weekend before with a friend and noticed a cute little hideaway at the side of the road. There was a bit of a run down out building set aside from the road and a little cave and waterfall – It looked like the perfect place to camp!

About a mile away from the lake its self and up the hill towards Old Man of Coniston (So you can burn off the beers you’ve drank walking home!)

Theres plenty to see and do around Coniston, the lake its self is beautiful and its definitely worth a trip to the bluebird cafe for some lunch and an old man ale!

We had quite mixed weather whilst we were there so the outhouse was a really good source of shelter for us, we still managed to have a bbq and camp fire even though it was drizzly! There’s a pub slightly further down the road which is handy for a night cap and also a toilet stop!

We took a hike up Old Man of Consiton, a beautiful walk to do. There are some amazing views from the top, I think our lab Bremen was pretty impressed too!

As I say, the main aim of this blog is to allow other van lovers an insight on some of the fantastic places we have stayed as it can sometimes be a little bit tricky to find somewhere so here’s my favourite little spot by Coniston!

Hopefully this screenshot of the location gives you a better idea of where you need to be heading!
